This is one seriously cool light....lemme just start by saying that. I was impressed the moment I got my hands on the NEBO REDLINE. It is lighter than I expected it to be. One of the major draws of this light, in my opinion, is the fact that it runs on 3 AAA batts. Much less cost to have a working light than the CR123's and the like that run most of the tactical lights these days. Don't get me wrong, I like CR123's and the light they provide just as much as anyone, its the cost that can get on your nerves after awhile. But I digress...
The NEBO REDLINE can be viewed from up to 138 meters away making it a great light for a survival kit. The tough aircraft grade aluminum body makes it ideal for almost any use, kit, or mount. I personally carry one on my messenger bag. The magnetic base is great for mounting it to most metal surfaces, and the GITD tail cap button is great for night time usage. I am not sure exactly how long the GITD button actually glows for when 'charged', but I do appreciate the feature being there for when its needed. It has 5 different modes of use for various situations and possibilities. As I was saying earlier, the NEBO REDLINE is great for a survival kit...it has an S.O.S. light function. You dont see a whole lot of lights with that feature. Of course they have a Strobe function , and 3 different brightness output settings. The highest output setting is 220 lumens which you would want to be careful with. As anything above 50 lumes within a 10 yard distance can cause temporary blindness. The light retails for $35 USD and comes ready to use with 3 AAA's.
I can honestly say I would gladly buy another light from NEBO. They have a large line up of lights at: http://www.nebotools.com for your viewing pleasure.
